Crash Claims Young Life
Grey County Ontario Provincial Police investigated a single motor vehicle collision that has claimed the life of a Grey Highland resident. On June 20, just before 7 p.m., a 1990 Honda hatchback was north bound on Grey County Road 13 just north of Concession 12 when it left the roadway entering the west ditch and rolled several times.
The driver, Shayne Kevin FARRUGIA, age 20 was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing his seatbelt. The passenger in the vehicle, Erin Susan JACKSON, age 18 of West Grey Township was treated for minor injuries at the Markdale Hospital and released She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Traffic crashes remain a leading cause of death in Ontario Using seatbelts is the single most effective way to reduce vehicle-related injuries and fatalities.
The Ontario Provincial Police has assigned two technical collision investigators to the accident.

BLACK, Charlie BLACK, Myles RYAN, Don DENTON, Jim McMANAMAN and Peter D'ARCEY. Interment in Saint_John's Roman Catholic Cemetery.

As the result of an automobile accident near Eugenia on Wednesday, June 20 2007 in his 21st year. BUNDY, Helen MacDonald "Donnie"
Passed away peacefully at age 71 on November 7, 2007 at Perram House in Toronto. Donnie was born in Cooperstown, New York on December 18, 1935, and moved to Canada (Montreal, Québec) with her family in 1974. She loved Québec and Canada and was proud to become a Canadian citizen in 2002. Donnie will be remembered by those who knew her as an independent thinker and true original character with a profound love for literature and political talk (typically over a cigarette and glass of wine), and profound distrust of all things Republican or Conservative! She attended St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York and graduated in 1957 with a B.A. in English and Minors in History and Radio. While at St. Lawrence she was a member of an Honors Sorority (Alpha Delta Pi) and won a best actress award for her portrayal of Lady Macbeth in a student production there. She also attended the Banff School of Fine Arts in 1958 and the Catholic University in Washington, D.C. She later obtained a Master of Library Science degree from Indiana University in 1972. Donnie was also a long time volunteer reader for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind in Toronto. She was married to Richard A. EARLE, of Mt. View, New York, for 20 years and had four children (Ward, Christopher, Clinton and Caroline) and six grandchildren (Sam, Lucy, Lydia, Liam, Andrew and Nathaniel). She will be sadly missed by her children, grandchildren, daughters-in-law Shari HOLLETT, Oona CASS and Ruth FARRUGIA, and son-in-law Christopher RICE, and always remembered as a thoughtful and loving Mother and Grandma. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff and volunteers of Perram House for their warm care and attention to Donnie and her family in her final days and would ask that expressions of sympathy in Donnie's memory be made in the form of a donation to Perram House. Donnie has requested that her ashes be scattered and a tree planted in her memory at Saint_James' Cemetery at 635 Parliament St. in Toronto.

Harold “Rex” PENFOUND of R.R.#1, Neustadt, passed away suddenly at Louise Marshall Hospital, Mount Forest, on Wednesday, October 31, 2007, in his 73rd year.
Beloved husband of Margaret (BROOKS) PENFOUND. Father of Linda and Berny LUESINK, and Mervyn and Dana PENFOUND, all of Harriston, Trevor and Annette PENFOUND of Mount Forest, Lorraine and Leo MONTAG of Ayton.
Grandfather of Maurice (Elske), Chris, Angela, Lee Ann (Mike), Tiffany, Tabitha, Tonya, Crystal, Dylan, Stacey, Lindsay (Mike), Travis, Leo Jr., Luke, and Luana. Great-grandfather of Dominic, Faith, Ashton and Sydney. Survived also by his sisters in England.
Predeceased by his daughter Barbara PENFOUND, grand_son Mark LAMBRECHT, and great-grandchildren Victoria and Owen LAMBRECHT.
Visitation was held at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. where the funeral service was held on Monday, November 5 at 11 a.m. Rev. Fr. Murray FARWELL officiating.
Interment in Harriston Cemetery.

FERRIS, Francis Grant
(October 31, 1940-December 23, 2007)
Passed away on Sunday December 23, 2007 at the Saugeen Memorial Hospital in Southampton. Francis (Grant) of Port Elgin was in his 68th year. Grant was an enthusiastic outdoorsman who worked diligently over his lifetime to protect and preserve the environment. One of his great loves was fishing on the Saugeen River where his motto was “catch and release”. Another love was motorcycles, and he spent many happy days riding his Gold Wing along county roads with his motorcycle buddies from Guelph. He was a proud member of the Grey Bruce Motorcycle Touring Club, Outdoor Writers of Canada, the Sydenham Sportsman Association, Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, Lake Huron Fishing Club, Friends of MacGregor Point Provincial Park, Blue Ridge Sportman's Club, Ducks Unlimited, National Wild Turkey Federation, co-founder and writer for the Grey/Bruce Outdoors Webpage, and many others. But his greatest love was for his family. He will be forever missed by his wife of 38 years, Gloria (FARYON,) and his children Frank, Russ (Manie) of Milton, Lara INNEO (Vito) of Guelph, and Alyssa (Shawn MacPHERSON) of Cambridge. He was a proud and loving Papa to Olyvia INNEO and Talia FERRIS. He is also survived by his dear sisters Dianne DOEKES (Charles) and Donna WARNER (Ralph,) nephews Lee and Steve COWTAN, Daryl WARNER, and nieces Cheryl KLIMM and Jen WARNER. Also surviving are the many lifelong Friends he loved as brothers and sisters. He truly cherished them. Grant was predeceased by his parents Frank Cyril FERRIS and Olive Ada COLLINGRIDGE, and also an infant daughter, Jessica. Cremation has taken place and a private committal will take place at Woodland Cemetery, Guelph, at a later date.
