DIAPER, Edwina Doris Louise
Peacefully, after a brief illness, on 12 June 2007, in Portsmouth, England, aged 82. Born in Portsmouth on 10 June 1925, Edwina trained at Salisbury Teachers' College after the war and later graduated from Queen's University (B.A. and M. Ed.). World traveller, cat-lover, and keen gardener, she had a long and eclectic career as a teacher, first in England, then in Ottawa, at various schools in the Kingston area, as Education Officer at the Prison for Women, and overseas in Zambia, in London, as well as in Nigeria and Lesotho. Edwina is survived by Dennis, her husband of 58 years her children Oriel (George MacLENNAN) in Halifax, Megan (David CAMPBELL) in Kingston, Charles (Carol PARKIN) in Glasgow and Mark (Birgit EGGERS) in Berlin; her granddaughters Georgia CAMPBELL, Charlotte EGGERS, and Emilia EGGERS; and her nephew the Rev. Clive CLAPSON (Katie CLAPSON) and her great-nieces Lucy CLAPSON and Cecilia CLAPSON in Scotland. She was predeceased by infant twin grand_sons Benjamin and Daniel CAMPBELL in 1985. A memorial service and interment will take place at noon on 19 July 2007 at the Church of the Resurrection in Drayton, Portsmouth, England, with a reception to follow. In Edwina's remembrance, donations may be made to Domino Theatre in Kingston, to Oxfam Canada, or to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Of Red Bay, peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Owen Sound, on Tuesday, September 18th, 2007. The former Diana Lynn SALES in her 62nd year. Devoted and loving mother of Paul Douglas CLARK, of Victoria, British Columbia; and Tracy Lynn CLARK, of Creston, British Columbia. Cherished grandmother of Danielle EGGERT and Tyler EGGERT, of Creston, British Columbia. Dear daughter of Herb and Annie SALES of Paris, Ontario. Much loved sister of Carol COOK (Gary,) of Dundas; Susan KELLEY (Jim,) of Falkland, Ontario; Paul SALES (Kathy,) of R.R.#2 Hepworth; Ann Marie LABRON (Jim,) of R.R.#5 Simcoe; and Lorie STEINER (Jeff,) of Brantford. Treasured companion of Bill and Carol Young, Red Bay. Sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, and close Friends. At Diana's request there will be no visitation or service at this time. Peacefully on Monday, September 24, 2007, surrounded by her family, at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, in her 84th year. Beloved wife of the late Edgar E. MONTEITH. Loving mother of Anne Maureen (Hugh), Michelle (Paul), Mary Jane (Dave), Gabrielle (Stephen) and Melissa (Raymond). Much loved grandmother of Brenda and Brian DESMOULIN; Jessica, Kevin and Geoffrey EGGINTON; Patrick and Gabrielle SALMERS; Jamie, Matthew, Danielle and Andrew NAYLOR Adrian and Maura VENDRIG. Cherished great-grandmother of Deidra, Kylie and Brynna DESMOULIN. Patricia was a graduate of Saint Michael's School of Nursing, class of 1946. Her varied interests included nature, the environment, and the arts. After leaving her home in Scarborough where she had many wonderful, active years, there followed four very challenging years where she revealed the true extent of her courage and determination. She will be greatly missed, lovingly remembered and always in our hearts. Visitation from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2007, at Jerrett Funeral Home, 660 Kennedy Rd., Scarborough. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, September 28 at 12: 00 p.m. at Saint Maria Goretti Church, 717 Kennedy Rd., Scarborough.

Of Elgin Manor on Monday, January 8, 2007 at her late residence in her 82nd year. Dearly loved mother of Mark and his wife Donna EGGLESTON of Saint Thomas, Christopher and his wife Judy EGGLESTON of Saint Thomas, Craig and his wife Kathleen EGGLESTON of Toronto, Martha and her husband Mike BALL of Saint Thomas and was predeceased by son David EGGLESTON. Loving grandmother of Jenn, Ashley, Cole, Owen, Gregory, Ryan, Chelsea, Tyler and Lisa and by 2 great-grandchildren and was survived by a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Barbara was born October 11, 1925 in London. A Memorial Service will be held at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas on Friday at 11: 00 a.m. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Cremation has taken place. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Two dead in separate stabbings

St. Catharines -- Two St. Catharines men are charged with second-degree murder in the death of a 20-year-old Fonthill man stabbed on the weekend in front of dozens of horrified pub-goers.
Mike DAY died from his injuries Saturday.
Joseph MITCHELITIS and Allen EGGLETON, both 21, are being held in custody for a bail hearing scheduled for tomorrow.
Police say officers arrived to discover two men had been stabbed. Both were taken to hospital and a third man, also suffering from stab wounds, later arrived at the hospital.
Meanwhile, in Brantford, police are searching for a 16-year-old murder suspect, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, in connection with a fatal stabbing at a house party early Saturday. The 18-year-old victim was rushed to the Brantford General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
