Compassionate nurse, dedicated friend, special aunt and sister
and conversationalist - died peacefully on June 20th, 2007 at
the age of 68, after a 20 month battle with cancer. Faye was
born in Port Elgin, Ontario on November 23rd 1938 to the late
Amy and Andrew
MEUSER.
Faye▼ is survived by her sister Helen and
husband Bob
DAVIS of San Diego, California and her brother Glen
and wife Marie of Southampton, Ontario. She was a very special
aunt to Gail and her husband Robert
FULLERTON of Paisley, Norman
and his wife Sandra of Southampton, Diane and her husband Steve
MORRIS of Goderich, and Mary and her husband Glen
THORNLEY of
Port Elgin. She is also survived by 9 great-nieces and nephews
and many cousins in Ontario. She is predeceased by her brother-in-law
John EYSSEL.
Faye▼ graduated from Victoria Hospital School of
Nursing in London Ontario as a registered nurse and later from
the University of Western Ontario with her Masters in Nursing.
She began her nursing career at the Vancouver General Hospital
and then moved to Saint Paul's Hospital, downtown Vancouver, where
she spent 27 years in various nurse management positions until
her retirement in 2001. Faye was active for many years in professional
nursing associations related to health care. She made a great
contribution to the nursing profession in British Columbia. Upon
her retirement she joined the British Columbia History of Nursing
Association, volunteered at the Saint Paul's archives, lawn bowled,
quilted, traveled, was a good friend to many, and was a great
ambassador of the city of Vancouver. Faye was also active in
the Central Presbyterian Church in Vancouver and in earlier years
in the Burgoyne Knox Presbyterian Church in Ontario. There is
a special celebration of Faye's life at Knox Presbyterian Church,
Burgoyne on Saturday July 14th at 11 a.m. with a reception to
follow. Donations in Faye's memory may be made to the Knox Presbyterian
church Burgoyne or a charity of your choice.
