Died peacefully at home on October 6, 2007 at the age of 48 years,
after a long and determined battle with cancer. Predeceased by
his father, George, his mother, Chiyeko and his brother, Robert,
and survived by his brothers, Edward (Toronto), Gerald (Toronto)
and Douglas, his nieces and nephew, Anna (Toronto), Amara (Toronto)
and Robbie (Toronto), his sisters-in-law, Tracy (Toronto) and
Kelly, his aunts and uncles, Mary (Victoria), Margaret, John,
Eugene, Kayoko, Marie, Geri, Kyomi, Ben, Fujio and Margaret,
Sus and Dorothy (Victoria) and Alice, cousin David ("The Fuji"),
Kim, Natalie, Nicole, godson Matthew and many more relatives
and Friends. Funeral observances will be held at St. Augustine's
Church, 2028 West 7th Avenue, Vancouver, British Columbia on
Thursday, October 18, 2007, with a viewing at 10: 00 a.m.-10:45 a.m.
and funeral mass to begin at 11: 00 a.m. A Celebration of Life
("Irish Wake") will be held in the memory of Allan at Point Grey
Golf and Country Club, 3350 S.W. Marine Drive, Vancouver, British
Columbia on Sunday, October 21, 2007 from 2: 00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers or koden, please make a donation to the Canadian
Cancer Society or your favourite charity. And when you are opening
a bottle of exceptional wine or cooking a fine meal, remember
how Allan loved to partake in food and drink with family and
Friends and take a moment to savour your time together.
