Shooting suspect found slain hours later
By Matt HARTLEY,

A man found shot to death in an underground parking garage in
the north end of Scarborough Friday evening was responsible for
the brazen daylight shooting death of another man just seven
hours earlier, according to Toronto police.
It all started at 1: 22 p.m. Friday when 19-year-old Ryan
HYDE
was ambushed outside a plaza at the corner of Birchmount Road
and Bonis Avenue in Scarborough.
Mr. HYDE was waiting inside a black four-door sedan for a friend
who had gone into a restaurant to buy some pizza when someone
opened the rear door of the car and started shooting.
He was shot several times and died of a wound to the abdomen
a short time later in hospital.
Police say the gunman was 25-year-old Kennado
WALKER of Ajax
- also known as Weezy or Squeeze - who fled the scene with another
man.
The pair apparently took off north across Bonis Avenue and disappeared
into a townhouse complex.
At 8: 13 p.m., police were called to an underground parking garage
at 5600 Sheppard Ave. East - just five kilometres away - where
Mr. WALKER's body was discovered, riddled with bullets.
Police said he died as a result of a gunshot wound to the head.
"By all accounts it appears that Mr.
WALKER was targeted for
this shooting and executed in the garage," Toronto police Detective
Stacy GALLANT said. "What we have are two individuals who were
leading criminal high-risk lifestyles. They had an apparent dispute
that led to both of them being killed on Friday."
Officers said both men were known to police and had a history
of involvement with drugs and guns. However, police still have
not given a motive for either killing. Det.
GALLANT said neither
man had an apparent gang affiliation, but that they did know
one another.
"We'd like to find out what's happened and why Mr.
WALKER would
feel compelled to go and kill another man over what's gone on
in the past," Det.
GALLANT said.
At least nine homicide officers as well as the gun and gang task
force are investigating the slayings.
Police have also arrested a 21-year-old man, Adrian
McGOWAN,
who was found attending to Mr.
HYDE at the scene of the first
shooting.
He now faces weapons charges.
