STEEN,
Marilyn
Ethel (née
RENNIE)
Born March 22, 1940, passed away on Wednesday June 20, 2007 after
a mercifully brief but valiantly fought battle with cancer. Marilyn
leaves behind many who will never forget the profound and lasting
impact she had on their lives. Her husband of 44 years, Brian,
will always remember her most of all for her unwavering love
and devotion to him and to her family, and also for her strength,
and her ability to pull the family together, be it for one of
the many celebratory birthday or anniversary dinners, wedding
and baby showers, or, conversely, in times of need. Marilyn was
very much the product of her Rennie upbringing. She was a true
rock, totally devoted to, and best friend of her mother Joyce,
qualities of which her father Palmer who predeceased her would
be, and of which her mother remains, extremely proud. Her sister,
Diane CAVE, with whom she was extremely close will miss their
heart to heart chats, sharing family stories, shopping in Florida,
and her always available, dependable, wise and loving sisterly
advice. Her children, Bruce and Jennifer (Glenn
KHO) were equally
blessed by Marilyn's influence on their lives. No matter the
situation, she was there for them, always loving, never judgmental.
She was the ideal Mom, and no one could have ever wished for
a more loving and understanding parent. They will feel her absence
forever. She will also be sorely missed by her granddaughters,
the apples of her eyes, Emily and Jillian. Marilyn leaves behind
many dear Friends whose lives she has influenced, who she has
loved, and who have loved her, including Donald Belisle, Shirley
Reardon, and the Pillars of Toronto District 3. Friends may call
at McDougall and Brown Funeral Home - Scarborough Chapel, 2900 Kingston
Road (just east of St. Clair Ave E.) 416-267-4656, on Sunday
from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Monday 2: 00 p.m.
Interment at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations
to The Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. On-line
condolences at www.mcdbrownscarb.ca
