It is with great sorrow, that we announce Fred's passing at home,
on Saturday, July 7, 2007, in his eighty-second year, after a
long and difficult battle with cancer, bravely fought. Cherished
husband of Helen
ROSS for more than fifty years. Dear brother
of Tom KAHN
(Carol.)
Devoted father to his sons David (Faye)
of Atlanta and Jonathan (Anne) of Toronto, and to his late beloved
daughter Nancy. Proud and caring "Opa" of Rebecca, Michael, Andrew,
Hannah, Daniel and Jason. Deeply mourned by Philip
WITMAN and
his wife Bonnie of Philadelphia, and their children, Jonathan
and Anna KRIGEL.
Fred was a loving and loyal father-in-law, brother-in-law,
cousin and uncle, and a good and loyal friend to many. Special
thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of 4NW and 8NW of the
Jewish General Hospital for their care and compassion during
Fred's earlier periods of hospitalization, to Doctor Jacob Garzon,
and to Doctor Charles Gomberg for his invaluable care, concern,
guidance and Friendship over these many years. The family would
like to thank his caregivers, Doreen Reid and Penny Ramassar,
whose compassion, expertise and good humour allowed us to keep
Fred comfortable at home, and
to Doctor Robert Piché, nurse Christine
Souci and the staff of the centre local de services communautaires
Métro whose help was invaluable. Funeral service from Paperman and
Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., Montreal on Tuesday, July 10 at
12: 00 p.m. Burial at the Temple Emanu-El Congregation Section,
Mount Royal Cemetery, Mt. Royal Blvd. Shiva at 1460 Dr. Penfield
Ave., Montreal until Friday, July 13 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.

and Greta, of Sweden. Bert touched many hearts and he will be
greatly missed by all who knew him. He will be fondly remembered
by his great Friends of the Tip of the Bruce Carving Club, Happy
Harbour Seniors Club, Tobermory Clinic Auxiliary, Card Playing
Groups, and neighbours. Bert served as Worshipful Master and
Secretary of Lebanon Forest Lodge #133, Exeter and Past Worthy
Patron of Eastern Star Chapter #222, Exeter. His respect for
life, great inner strength and deep love for family will never
be forgotten. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be
held at the Tobermory United Church on Saturday, October 13th,
2007 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Tobermory
