Auntie
Mollie
to many nieces and nephews and their families. Born in England,
emigrated and raised in Oakville, Mom moved to Toronto and graduated
from the Wellesley School of Nursing. She settled in Scarborough,
and with Clayt nurtured their family. Mom nursed at the Scarborough
Centenary Hospital from it's opening in 1967 to her retirement.
Mollie will be more than missed by the many Friends she and Clayt
had in Markham, the neighbours in Dorset Park, and the second
family at the Pirate's Inn in Barbados. Hundreds of people sport
her hand knitted mittens, socks, sweaters and cozy blankets.
She spent her remaining years in Dundas The family would like
to acknowledge her Friends at Creekside Drive and Dundas Retirement
Place. Mollie is resting at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard
Ave. E., (east of Kennedy Rd.). Visitation is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
on Monday. A funeral service will be held in the Ogden Chapel
on Tuesday at 1 o'clock. Reception to follow. Mom recognized
and was grateful for the exceptional care provided at the Hamilton
General
Hospital, especially from Doctors
ASSAM and
M. SANG.
Mom
and her family received compassionate nursing care on Unit 8
South. As the recipient of the Wellesley School of Nursing Bedside
Nursing Award 1946, she found this trait in her health care providers.
We know that Mom would wish any donations to be made to either
the Hospital for Sick Children, The Heart and Stroke Foundation,
or the Wellesley School of Nursing Alumni Association Bursary
to promote this type of quality health care everywhere.
