following a stroke, July 29, 2007 at Saint_Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton,
in her 90th year. Widow of Richard John

ATKINSON. A lifelong volunteer, Mrs.
JOHNSTON
was a life member of the Joseph Brant Hospital Auxiliary in Burlington,
Ontario, an active Guider for many years in Ontario, a Board
member of Saint Thomas' Anglican Church in Cambridge, Ontario and
a member of the Canadian Red Cross Society. Music and art were
her passions. Mrs.
JOHNSTON played the organ at many churches,
particularly St. Andrew's Anglican Church in Indian Harbour,
Nova Scotia, where she also led the Sunday School. Since March
of 2006, Mrs.
JOHNSTON resided at Queens Garden Long Term Care
Residence, where she continued her painting and was able to play
the organ. In June, she held a one woman art show, featuring
her recent paintings. Thanks to the staff at Queens Garden for
their wonderful care and Friendship and to the nurses at Saint_Joseph's
(Cardiology) for their kindness during our Mother's last days.
Mary's family will receive guests at the Dodsworth and Brown Funeral
Home - Robinson Chapel (King St. E. @ Wellington) on Thursday,
August 2, from 7: 00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service information will
be announced in Wednesday's paper. Cremation will follow. Interment
will take place at Saint Anne's Anglican Church cemetery, Byron,
Ontario.
