Peacefully at Saint Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Saturday, December 30, 2006. Russell Howard MITCHELL of R.R.#1, Straffordville in his 80th year. Beloved husband of 51 years Hazel (PARKER) MITCHELL. Dear father of Jeanette BALDWIN and partner Dan SMYTH of Pt. Burwell and Linda MITCHELL and fiancé John TEIXEIRA of Cambridge. Loving grandfather of Mark and Paul. Also survived by a brother Lawrence MITCHELL, sisters-in-law Jean and Evelyn MITCHELL and a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by an infant daughter Myrna, brothers Eugene, Walter and Max MITCHELL. Born in Bayham Township on June 12, 1927 son of the late Grant and Mildred (WOODWORD) MITCHELL. Russell was farmer and a member of Richmond United Church. Friends may call at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at 1: 00 p.m. Interment, Straffordville Cemetery. Rev. LOJEK, John Stanley
On Monday, June 11, 2007 at Saint Mary's Hospital. John LOJEK in his 66th year of Elmira. Beloved husband of Sophie (GARBACKA) LOJEK. Dear father of Margaret of Elmira, Laura and Sean SMYTH of Kitchener, Monika of Elmira. John was the last surviving member of his family having been predeceased by his parents William "Bill" LOJEK and Irene MALOWANIEC. John was born in Zywiec, Poland and came to Canada in 1956. He attended Del la Salle College in Toronto, then attended University in Windsor where he received his undergraduate degree. He then received his graduate degree in plant pathology at the University of Toronto. John was then employed in Elmira at Uniroyal Chemical where he continued his research. In 1980 he started his own interest in natural garden products. John's research led to many patents in the field of natural garden products focusing on acid rain and dedicating his life to the betterment of the natural environment. The family will receive their Friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Wednesday (Today) from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Teresa of Avila R.C. Church, Flamingo Drive, Elmira on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at 10: 30 a.m. with Rev. Sudie MacDONALD, C.R. officiating followed by interment in St. Teresa's R.C. Cemetery, Elmira. Parish Prayers will be offered at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. In John's memory, donations to Tree Canada Foundation or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.

On October 3rd, 2007, as a result of an automobile accident. Beloved husband of Mariella C.C. MORRIN, dear father of Peter R.F. MORRIN (Donna), Hugh F.C. MORRIN (Sharon), and Robin D. MORRIN (Ingrid), Granddaddy to Eric, Austin, Madeleine, Hugh, Kathryn and Alexandra, brother of Alice M. SMYTH and Francis D. MORRIN. Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Mary's Cathedral, Kingston, Ontario, Friday, October 12th, at 2: 00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Private interment. For his many Friends, a reception will follow the service. There will be no visitation. He was a distinguished nephrologist, medical ethicist, mentor and teacher, who used his skills, compassion and clear vision to serve his patients, students and colleagues. As a sailor, skier and fly fisherman, he shared his love of the outdoors with family and Friends. As a loving husband, caring father and stalwart friend, he will be missed by many. Passed away after a long illness at Toronto on Monday, October 22, 2007 at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband of Isabel. Survived also by his nephews and niece. Cherished mother of John and his wife Linda and Dan and his wife Mary Anne. Proud grandmother of Brad, Jamie and Ted and great-grandmother of Leila. Dear sister of Loretta ROELOFSEN. Predeceased by her brothers Louie, Eddie, Joe and Orville POLCI and her sisters Amelia CRAWFORD and Pauline SMYTHE. She will be missed by several nieces and nephews and good Friends. SMYTHE, Harry Arthur
With sadness, we announce the death of Harry SMYTHE of Tsawwassen, British Columbia Born October 22, 1924 in Stratford, Ontario. His family was at his side when he passed peacefully at Mountain View Extended Care on Monday, August 27, 2007. Fondly remembered as Harz. he is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Norma and five children Kathryn DONAHOE (Gordon,) Janet WHITE/WHYTE (Rod,) Joan BURK/BURKE (David), Bill SMYTHE (Mona), Barbara HARKNESS (Dave), thirteen grandchildren, one sister Susan GILBERT and many nieces and nephews. Harz led a full life with his career passion being hospital pharmacy. He retired from Vancouver General Hospital as Director of Pharmacy in 1986 and kept busy with his family and his other passion, his computer. He spent the last 4 years at Mountain View Extended Care. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff who helped ease his long struggle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Harz can donate to the Delta Hospital in Ladner, British Columbia. A celebration of his life is planned Thursday, August 30th, 2-4 at Kinsmen Recreation Centre, 5430 10th Avenue, Tsawwassen, B.C.

SMYTHE, Dorothy Bromby
Passed away peacefully with family at her bedside after a courageous battle with cancer on December 24, 2007, at the age of 82, at her home in Newmarket. Beloved wife of Jim for 59 wonderful years devoted and loving mother of Rob, Pat (BUIE) and Sandra (RUTHERFORD) cherished nana of Debbie, Jillian, Jennifer, Erin, Matthew, Gregory, Cayleigh, and Samantha; dear sister of Bernice; and loving mother-in-law of Sue, Neil, and Bruce. Dorothy was well known in the Toronto entertainment industry. An accomplished concert organist, she performed, produced, and directed shows at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, the Royal Horse Show, the National Home Show, Ontario Place, and Yorkdale. Her involvement in the Church of the Ascension, Don Mills, and in Trinity Church, Aurora, was exceptional. As wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, performer, church worker, and friend, Dorothy touched the lives of many people. Her contribution to the happiness of the world is a rich legacy. Visitations will be held at the Roadhouse and Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street South, Newmarket, on Friday, December 28, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, 79 Victoria Street, Aurora, on Saturday, December 29, at 11 a.m. Donations to the Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation - New Cancer Centre would be appreciated.
