JENNINGS, Constance " Connie" (née WILSON)
Of Port Stanley on Monday, July 23rd, 2007, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at her residence, in her 82nd year. Dearly loved wife of the late John "Jack" Albert JENNINGS (1980) and much loved mother of Karen and her husband Robert BRENNAN of London, Susan JENNINGS of Mississauga, Mary Lou and her husband John DODD of Saint Thomas, Jacqueline and her husband Brian LOGAN of Surrey, British Columbia and Ian and his wife Sheila JENNINGS of Burlington. Special loved grandmother of Colleen and Kelly BRENNAN, Leslie and Jonathan NORGUARD, Ian, Neil and Amy DODD, Michael, Christopher and Katie LOGAN and Katelyn and Erika JENNINGS. Dear niece of Keith McEWEN of Dunnville. Connie was born in Saint Thomas on November 9, 1925, the daughter of the late Leslie and Audra (McEWAN) WILSON. She was a charter member of the Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire (Kenneth Lucas Chapter) and was very active during her lifetime, a member of the Saint_John's Ambulance and had received the Order of Saint_John, a Past President of the Saint Thomas Curling Club, a member of the Saint Thomas Golf and Country Club, a former member of the Port Stanley Yacht Club, a volunteer with the March of Dimes and Meals on Wheels. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas, where funeral service will be held Saturday at 1: 00 p.m. Cremation to follow. Remembrances may be made to the Elgin Military Museum or the Saint Thomas Public Art Gallery. Visitation Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

TORRIE, Dorothy Eileen (KENNEDY)
Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, November 2, 2007. The former Dorothy Eileen KENNEDY, of Guelph and formerly of Durham, in her 98th year.
Beloved wife of the late John TORRIE. Loving mother of Harold TORRIE and his wife Mabel of Barrie, Phyllis and her husband Harold McKENZIE of Guelph, Leone and her husband Tom MARSHALL of Oro Station, Arthur TORRIE and his wife Marylen of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Glen TORRIE and his wife Gwen of Orillia and Brian TORRIE and his wife Elizabeth of Stayner.
Fondly remembered by her 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by her parents Robert and Mary KENNEDY, her brothers: John, Fred, George, Jim, Ken and William KENNEDY; and her sisters: Mabel WALKER, Violet McEWEN and Roberta KENNEDY.
Visitation was held at the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham on Monday from 2: 30-4 p.m. and 7-9 pm.
A Celebration of Dorothy's Life was held at the Durham Baptist Church on Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock. Pastor Robert LITTLE and Pastor David CLARKE officiated. Joyce REAY played the organ. The congregation sang, “Amazing Grace” and “Room at the Cross for You.” Tributes were given by Glen TORRIE, Glen McKENZIE and Valerie CLARK. Sharon KENNEDY sang two solos and The Gospel Couriers sang, “My Shepherd is Leading Me Home” and “What a Day That Will Be.&rdquo
The pall bearers were Harold TORRIE, Arthur TORRIE, Glen TORRIE, Brian TORRIE, Tom MARSHALL and Harold McKENZIE.
Committal Service and interment was held at Maplewood Cemetery, Varney. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Durham Baptist Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.

MOORE, William Vining (May 14, 1925-July 11, 2007)
William Vining MOORE (Bill) passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on Wednesday July 11, 2007 at the Hill House Hospice in Richmond Hill. Bill will be dearly missed by his wife Maria his children Linda ARMSTRONG, Diane WHITE/WHYTE, Kevin BARRETT and Caroline GEENEN; his sons-in-law: Michael PURMORT (and his wife Pat,) Peter ARMSTRONG, Michael WHITE/WHYTE, Mark GEENEN; his daughter-in-law Kimberly BARRETT, as well as his 10 grandchildren: Jessica, Carly and Michelle PURMORT; Thomas, Amanda and Ryan ARMSTRONG; Stephen and Christopher WHITE/WHYTE; Lauren and Madeline GEENEN. He will also be missed by Jackie and Bill HOOD and their children Kaitlyn and Riley; as well as Barb MARTIN and Fred SCHWERING and their sons Carl, Robert and Fredrick. Bill is lovingly remembered by his sister Nancy MARINELLI (Luigi) and his nieces Lucia and Madeline. He was predeceased by his brother Peter (Phyllis) and his daughter Sharon PURMORT. Bill was born in Oshawa, the son of Albert Lauder and Jean (MacEWEN) MOORE. He served his country in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1943 to 1946. Upon leaving the service he enrolled in Queen's University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Commerce in 1951. Bill soon took a sales position with International Business Machines Corporation Canada and was appointed President in 1969. After leaving International Business Machines Corporation in 1972, he pursued other business ventures in information technology. Larger than life, Bill was a charming, outgoing, funny, optimistic and encouraging man. Every cloud he saw had a silver lining and he was quick to support his Friends and family. Extremely intelligent and a brilliant card player, he attained the status of Life Master in contract bridge. He was an avid golfer and downhill skier and continued pursuing both sports long after most people hang up their gear. Bill kept his sense of humour, charm and gratitude throughout his illnesses. There will be a visitation on Saturday July 21st from 4: 00 p.m. until 7: 00 p.m. at Fawcett Funeral Home, 82 Pine Street, Collingwood, Ontario. A church service will be held at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Clearview Township on Sunday July 22nd at 2: 00 p.m. and a reception will follow immediately at the Blue Mountain Golf and Country Club in Collingwood. In his final days, Bill received compassionate and loving care at the Hill House Hospice in Richmond Hill. ROGERS, Doreen (née ROSS)
Born October 30, 1919, died peacefully with her daughter at her side on November 22, 2007, at South Granville Lodge in Vancouver. She was predeceased by her husband J. Peter ROGERS and her two sisters, Ann Elise BEATTY and Barbara Audrey McEWEN. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Martha, granddaughter Tracey and grand_son Christopher, also by son Bruce and family. Doe spent her early childhood in Sault Ste. Marie, attended B.S.S. in Toronto and then University of Toronto where she met and married Peter. They lived in Halifax during the war, then back to Ontario where Peter's job took them all over the province. She has lived in Vancouver since the 70's where she enjoyed many of the west coast activities and her clubs. She will be remembered for her outgoing personality and her love of life and will be missed by a great many Friends and relatives. Service will be held at Saint Mary's in Kerrisdale in Vancouver at 11 a.m. on November 27th. In lieu of flowers, donations to Kenneth Gordon School for Dyslexia.

MacDONALD, John Alexander
Peacefully, on December 11, 2007 at Veterans"Wing, K1C, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, at the age of 91. Beloved husband of the late Margaret (WAKEFIELD,) John will be sadly missed by his three children, Margaret CASEY and her husband John of Toronto and Baysville, Janet BOWLER and her husband Alan of Ancaster, and John MacDONALD and his wife Kathleen of Toronto. Loving Bop of Blair, Grant, Ross and Alec; Matthew and Andrew; Siobhan and Brendan; and great-grandfather of Caoilinn (deceased), Evan and Fianna. Predeceased by his three sisters, Norah WICKS, Mary MacDONALD and Peg McEWEN, all of Winnipeg. John was born February 4, 1916 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan and grew up in Brandon and Winnipeg, Manitoba. He graduated from Queen's University in 1938 and started his career with the Manufacturer's Life Insurance Company. John retired from Manulife in 1979 as a Financial Vice President. He enjoyed his summers at the cottage on Lake of Bays and was an Honourary Member of Don Mills Kiwanis-Golden K. John served as an Artillery Officer with the Royal Canadian Army in World War 2 and saw action in the European Theatre. The family wish to thank the staff of K1C for the loving care, respect and support they provided Dad for the many years he lived in K Wing. Also a very special heartfelt thanks to Irene Willmott for her companionship to Dad and her endearing sense of humour. The family will receive Friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home - A.W. Miles Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East) from 7: 00-9:00 p.m. Thursday, December 13th. Celebration of Dad's Life will take place at 11: 30 a.m. on Friday, December 14, 2007 in Leaside United Church, 822 Millwood Road (at McRae Drive), Toronto.
