Of Belleville, Ontario, in his 82nd year. Peacefully, July 17th
2007, with family by his side. After illness and several weeks
of pneumonia, Peter showed great courage and resolve. son of
the late Arthur Gorham

by his loving wife
Georgina (née
YUILL,) son Christopher and
daughter-in-law Susan. "Grandpa-Pete" to Nicole, Charlotte and
Alexandria. Dear brother to James and his wife Patricia of Ottawa.
Will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Peter
was born in Montreal. It was there and Toronto where he spent
his childhood. As a young man he attended Trinity College school
in Port Hope, Ontario. In 1943 Peter received a scholarship to
Royal Roads Naval College. He served as an officer in both the
Royal Canadian Navy and Naval Reserve. Post World War 2 and his
completion of active duty, Peter continued his studies at St. George
Williams College in Montreal (Concordia University) where he
earned his degree. Later he accepted a position with Shell Canada
as a sales and marketing executive and returned once again to
Toronto. He and Georgina were married in 1965 and welcomed the
birth of their only child Christopher in 1966. An opportunity
to relocate to Belleville, Ontario in 1976 was enthusiastically
taken, where Peter was the Shell Canada Eastern Ontario industrial
sales rep. In 1982 he retired and continued to pursue his keen
interest in horse racing, model trains, photography, sailing,
his impressive stamp collection and his love and devotion to
his family. A heartfelt thank you to the amazing nurses and staff
at Hallowell House in Picton who's care, compassion and dedication
has been of great comfort. Friends are invited to the Burke Funeral
Home, 150 Church Street Belleville (613) 968-6968 on Friday,
July 20th from 1: 00-2:00 p.m. Funeral service to be held in the
chapel at 2: 00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made
in the memory of J. Peter
