Young Man Killed in Rollover
A 20 year-old man was killed when his car rolled at a rural intersection
southwest of Owen Sound in the Municipality of Georgian Bluffs
sometime early Saturday morning, March 8.
A silver 2000 Honda Prelude was westbound on Side Road 9 approaching
the stop sign at the intersection of Concession Road 11 when
it left the roadway, clipped a hydro pole and rolled a number
of times before coming to rest in an adjoining field. The scene
was discovered and reported by a passing motorist at about 6: 30 a.m.
Chance MORTON, age 20, died from injuries sustained and was pronounced
dead at the scene. The deceased young man resided in the hamlet
of Kilsyth, a few kilometers due east from the location of the
crash. It is believed that it happened very early in the morning,
possibly hours before being found and reported.
Technical Collision Investigators collected evidence to determine
the cause of the crash. Weather conditions were not a factor.
Investigators have concluded the deceased was not wearing a seat
belt at the time.
Grey County O.P.P. is continuing to investigate. Anyone who might
have had contact with the involved vehicle or driver prior to
the crash or those with other knowledge that might assist is
asked to contact Grey County O.P.P. at 1-888-310-1122. Constable
Delisa SCHIEVEN is the investigating officer.

Tragic Death on Chatsworth Farm

6 p.m. on May 20 to investigate a tragic accident that claimed
the life of a Chatsworth area farmer.
The incident occurred on the victim's farm situated on Veteran's
Road in the Township of Chatsworth (southeast of Owen Sound).
A man, operating a manure spreader in the area of the barn had
the misfortune of his clothing becoming entangled in the power
take-off extension rod that was part of the spreader apparatus.
The Chatsworth Fire Department assisted on the scene to release
the victim and Grey County Emergency Medical Services provided
immediate medical care but vital signs were absent.
The victim, Walter
SHORBACH, 64 years of Chatsworth, was pronounced
dead at the scene by the Coroner, Doctor Roger
SKINNER.
The Ontario Farm Association was notified of the incident.
