Mr. ANDERSON of Port Daniel West, Québec was born in Selkirk, Manitoba, December 2, 1916. He died February 10, 2008 at the Hôpital de Chandler, Québec. Educated in Selkirk schools and Wesley College, University of Manitoba. Survived by his wife of 67 and 1/2 years Lucy Ethel JOHNSTONE and his children Kilby Anderson MacPHERSON and Bryn ANDERSON, of Toronto and Norton ANDERSON Jr., of British Columbia Also his grandchildren Bryn MacPHERSON- WHITE/WHYTE (Andrew), W. James MacPHERSON (Catherine), in the Middle East, and Kristin-Ann MacPHERSON; and his great-grandchildren, Signy, Arabella and Keiller WHITE/WHYTE, of Toronto and his sister-in-law Alice VERMETTE, Ottawa and his nephew Nelson VERMETTE (Sylvie,) Vancouver. Mr. ANDERSON served overseas in World War 2 with the Camerons of Winnipeg, returning to Canada, and in 1944 was appointed Chief Public Relations Officer, the Canadian Army, at Army Headquarters, Ottawa. He was seconded by the Wartime Information Board to be in charge of the Press Corps that accompanied Prime Minister Mackenzie King to San Francisco for the Founding Meeting of the United Nations. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Cremation with no funeral at the request of Mr. ANDERSON. Died of heart failure in Pickering, Ontario. John was the son of Jesse M. FEATHERSTONHAUGH and Philip C. GARRATT Sr. He is predeceased by his brother Philip C. GARRATT Jr. and is survived by the mother of his children, Frances Field GARRATT, his sister Sally Garratt VERNON, his five children: Lynne, David, Lesley, Sally, Kathy, his six grandchildren: Jason, Jamie, Kristen, Jenny, John, Kejah and his three great-grand_sons: Nathan, Arlin and Owen. John was an entrepreneur, an outdoorsman and a talented musician. Among his accomplishments, he founded Garratt Aircraft - the maker of the Avro Aeroparts, was president of Kingsgate Motors and created 88 Keys Piano School. He gave many people joy with his stories, his humour and his piano-playing right till the very end. There will be a memorial gathering to honour his gregarious and fun-loving nature at his beloved Lake of Bays. A summer date will follow. She was an avid stamp collector and loved to knit, crochet, play cards, travel, and especially watch and cheer her grandchildren in their many activities. Suddenly on June 30, 2008, at Woodstock General Hospital, Roland Donald HARRISON of Norwich in his 62nd year. Lovingly remembered by his wife Tammy SCHAAFSMA; his children Jeff HARRISON and wife Tracy of Beachville, Paul HARRISON and wife Kelly of Cold Lake, Alberta, Stuart HARRISON and wife Shelley of Burlington, Andrea CHESSELL and husband Jarret of Woodstock, and Leah VEROUDEN of Woodstock; his grandchildren Trinity, Jack, Ava, Caydence, Samuel and William. Survived by his brothers Doug and wife Judy of Aylmer, Gordon and wife Gloria of Norwich, Brian and wife Joan of Woodstock. Predeceased by parents Roland (1991) and Ruth (2000), and infant sister Sylvia. Rolie was an active member of Norwich Legion Br. #190. McLAREN, KEN
Ken McLAREN, one of this area's well-known and respected residents, passed away on Thursday, April 17 as the result of a heart attack. Ken was in his 84th year. He was a retired farmer, he was a loving uncle, a treasured neighbour and friend.
Kenneth, son of George and Alice McLAREN was born June 16, 1924 and spent most of his life working the family farm in Melancthon Township. He and his brother Delmar purchased the farm from their father George upon his retirement in 1972 Upon Ken's retirement in 1986 he moved into Dundalk on Victoria Street, and following his mother's passing moved to the Highview apartment in Dundalk in 1998.
Ken's daily routine would not be complete without going to the Junction Restaurant in the morning for coffee, playing cards at the card room and visiting Friends, relatives and neighbours. He enjoyed going to auction sales with cousin Carol and Ernie HAWTON. He was an avid euchre player and loved to go to the Bingo. Ken always supported and looked forward to attending community events such as the Firemen's Frolic, Dundalk Fair Honeywood Barbecue suppers, Dundalk Town Hall Theatre, Pepper Tournaments and Turkey Rolls at the Lions Club. He was also a member of the Dundalk Young at Heart Club. He enjoyed sports especially baseball and hockey. He would always attend local hockey games of cousins and great nephews.
Ken joins in eternal rest his parents, George and Alice McLAREN, brothers Wilbert, McKinley and Delmar and sisters Muriel NEVILLE and Blanche O'CONNOR, niece Donalda MILNE and nephew Grant NEVILLE.
Ken is survived by nieces Paulette RYAN, St. Catharines, Janice WEBSTER, Dundalk, Linda MacDONALD, Georgetown and Heather VERPAALEN, Laurel and nephews Gordon, Oakville and David McLAREN, Stratford, and great nephews Albert, Grant and Frank MILNE, Thomas and Dillon Ryan, Elliott and Jonathan McLAREN, Zack and Gage VERPAALEN, Conner and great niece Kaylee McLAREN.
The service was conducted by Mark DAVIDSON, minister of the Erskine Presbyterian Church who provided comforting words and prayers to the family and Friends. Music included, Praise My Soul the King of Heaven, What a Wonderful World and Go Rest High on that Mountain. Don PATTON played Amazing Grace on the bagpipes.
The pallbearers were Brian BROSTER, David, Elliott and Jonathan McLAREN, Thomas RYAN and Lynn KEATING. Honourary pallbearers were Harvey CLARKE, Ernie HAWTON, Mac McLAREN, Grant PRESTON, Bob SCOTT, Vern SAINT_JOHN and Ivan WILTSHIRE.
Interment was in Badjeros Cemetery.
Following the committal service at Badjeros, Friends were invited to the Erskine Presbyterian Church in Dundalk for refreshments and a time to visit. The lunch was provided by the ladies of the church.
Ken will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by many Friends, relatives and neighbours. To have been part of his life was truly an honour and a blessing.
God now has you in His hands, we will always have you in our hearts.

Died at home in Toronto on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at the age of 77. Merchant seaman, naval officer, teacher, transportation executive, yachtsman, traveller, husband, father and grandfather, he was blessed by a rich and full life. He is survived by his wife Honor, four children Hugh, Wendy, Linda and Richard from his first marriage to Philippa VERRIER, nine grandchildren, and his sister Patricia JOYCE. A private service will take place in Toronto on Wednesday, Febr uary 13, 2008. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. A celebration of Bill's life will be held in the spring.

Beloved wife of the late Billie Allward TAILOR/TAYLOR (1980.) Loving mother of Kaaren and her husband Bob BARKER of Grand Bend, Gale and her husband Bob STEWARD/STEWART/STUART of Newmarket, Bill TAILOR/TAYLOR and Kathy SHERMAN of Montreal, and Nancy and Paul VERRIEZ of London. Cherished grandmother of Scott, Todd, Jay, Julie Anne, Susan, Shannon, Alexia, Charlene, Zoe, Tiffany, Brent and Troy and great-grandmother of twelve. Also survived by her sister Jessie YATES of Brights Grove and sister-in-law Rose PHILIP of London, as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother Robert Philip. Peacefully at Victoria Hospital on Monday, March 24th, 2008, Jim MONTAG of London in his 78th year. Truly beloved of Louise for 28 years and evermore. Loving father to Jim MONTAG and Teresa, Mary (MONTAG, VERSCHUREN) and Scott BROWN. Loving Poppa to Jeremy and Jason MONTAG, William and Kayla VERSCHUREN and their father Robert. Jim served 38 years with CN / CP/ Allstream Telecommunications. He was an avid outdoorsman, naturalist and gardener and was involved with many community groups including the London Rock and Mineral Society; APEC; founder of the London Middlesex Taxpayers' Coalition; Reform Party; Thames Region Ecological Association and more recently as past-president of C.N. Pensioners and Probus, as well as a seven-year member of the Multiple Myeloma Support Group. Jim was a Past Master of The Tuscan Lodge #195. He will be missed. 75, of Tavistock passed away in the Stratford General Hospital on Thursday, March 6, 2008. She was born in Mosa Township, Middlesex County on March 15, 1932 a daughter of the late Isaac Roy SAYLOR and the former Elva Mae TUNKS. Doris was a member of Bethel Pentecostal Church in Stratford; was a Past President of Women's Aglow and had been a long time volunteer at the House of Blessing and L'Arche in Stratford. She married Donald Percy DOAN at Bothwell on July 1, 1950. He predeceased her on September 22, 2000. She was also predeceased by her son, Paul DOAN. Doris is survived by two sons, David DOAN and Suzanne BROADBENT of Mississauga, Tim and wife Janie DOAN of Tavistock; two daughters, Joanne VERSTEEG and Chuck DRENNAN of Woodstock, Wendy and husband Ed BISSADA of Toronto five grandchildren, Raymond VERSTEEG, Ted BISSADA, Will BISSADA, Kate DOAN and Liam DOAN; one great-grand_son, Braden WALTHAM one brother, Ken and wife Linda SAYLOR of Bothwell; two sisters Betty McMILLAN of Tavistock, Bev and husband Clive HAMILTON of Sarnia; sisters-in-law, Edna RINGROSE of Kenora, Donna ADAM/ADAMS of LaGrange, Georgia and Helen DOAN of Saint Thomas.
