Peacefully at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound on her mother's birthday Friday February 22, 2008. In her 92nd year, Jean Marjorie BYE (née GRUNSELL,) beloved wife of the late Lester J. BYE. Loving mother of John BYE and his late wife Barbara, Mary and her husband John COLLIER and Kathryn and her husband Martin ROACH. Loving grandmother of Melissa BYE, Amy and her husband Lenny FONTE, Sarah COLLIER and James WOOD, and Martha COLLIER. Loved great-grandmother of Anthony and Haly. Fondly remembered by nieces and nephews. Predeceased by three sisters Alma (Mrs. John BUIE,) Dorothy and Irene GRUNSELL. Alice Wilhemina ABRA passed away peacefully at her home in Owen Sound, on Tuesday, March 4th, 2008. She was the loving sister of Velma BURR and her husband, Don, of Owen Sound. Alice will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, William and Alice ABRA (née BYE;) her brothers, Lyall ABRA (Adeline,) Roy ABRA (Grace,) Percy ABRA (Laura;) her sister, Beryle WEPPLER (Lawrence.) ROBINSON, Evelyn
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Evelyn ROBINSON on June 13, 2008, at her residence of Fir Park Village in Port Alberni, British Columbia Evelyn was two weeks short of her 96th birthday. Loving wife of the late Edward (Ted) ROBINSON. Ted and Ev moved to Owen Sound from Weston in 1950 and raised their family: Shirley (Terry) WHITE/WHYTE of Port Alberni, Diane (Alvin BYE) and Ken (Nancy) ROBINSON all of Owen Sound. They were a vibrant part of the community. Ted worked for Empire Stove Co. and later both Ev and Ted worked at the General and Marine Hospital in Owen Sound. They were active members of Westside United Church and Ev was particularly involved with the United Church Women and as C.G.I.T. leader. They spent many happy retirement years in the small fishing village of Sointula on Malcolm Island, British Columbia before moving to Port Alberni, British Columbia. Evelyn will be dearly missed and greatly loved by all her family which includes nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service to celebrate Evelyn's life will be held at a later date in Port Alberni, B.C.

It is with great sadness that we announce that Marilyn BYERS has passed away, following a long battle with cancer. Marilyn died peacefully at home in Campbell River, British Columbia, on February 26, 2008, with Gord and Taffy by her side. She was predeceased by her parents, Emma and Lorne MADILL and her brother, Dennis MADILL. Marliyn is survived by her loving partner, Gordon IRELAND; her three sons, Jason (Sherri,) Jaret (Aimee) and Josh (Tara); Gordon's daughters, Crystal and Laicie; grandchildren, Braeden, Bradley, Felicity and Rylee. She is also survived by her siblings, Karen (Brian), Kathy (Don), Brian (Gail) and Bill (Sandy;) her first husband, Jeff BYERS; many nieces and nephews in Ontario and British Columbia and her special Friends, Verna, Lorne, Louise, all the Staff of Cheries and Altech, Larry, Colleen, Albert, Colleen and many many Friends. Marilyn was born in Perth, Ontario on December 19, 1954, into a family of 6 children. She started a hairdressing career in Ontario before marrying Jeff BYERS. Together with their 3 sons, they settled in Campbell River in 1980. Marilyn continued to work in her career and eventually owned her own business in Campbell River. Marilyn enjoyed watching her boys in their passions of music, sports and family. She was always the biggest fan. She later learned to enjoy travelling with Gord and loved fishing and boating with Gord and Taffy. They enjoyed entertaining in their home and with their Friends and family. Marilyn lived her life one day at a time and was a friend of Bill W. A Service to Celebrate Marilyn's Life will be held at Sutton's Funeral Home, 502 South Dogwood Street, Campbell River, British Columbia, on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 11: 00 a.m. with Doctor John Krell officiating. Loving grandfather of twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Marjorie (Mrs. Lester REIST,) Naomi (Mrs. Clarence GUSEY), Shirley (Mrs. Calvin McLEAN) and Allan BYERS. Walter's career began in 1942 with a horse and wagon with Pan Dandy and then Canada Bread retiring in 1986. But he continued selling baked goods from his vehicle up to present time.
