GROGAN, Emmett Francis
(Former Reeve of Albion Township, retired owner of Grogan Meats Ltd. and was also a farmer, realtor and returned to farming, the occupation he loved)
With sadness and love the family of Emmett Francis GROGAN wish to announce his passing on Sunday, January 27, 2008 in his 84th year. He was born February 11, 1924 in Lockton, Albion Township. Predeceased by his wife Nadine GROGAN (1997) and his son James GROGAN (1996.) Dear father of Mary and John VAN DYK, Waterloo John and Bruna GROGAN, Toronto; Barbara GROGAN, Waterloo, Harold and Kim GROGAN, Bolton; Roberta and Bill LINKLETTER, Bolton. Loved grandpa of Michelle VAN DYK and Jason BELANGER, Ottawa Paul and Sarah VAN DYK, London; Tom and Mikaela LINKLETTER, Caledon Kevin LINKLETTER and Jenn, Vernon, British Columbia; Erika GROGAN and Jeff Graham, Oshawa; Levi GROGAN and Sydney GROGAN, Bolton. Cherished great-grandpa of Henry VAN DYK. Dear brother to Marjorie and John GIBB, Louis (deceased) and Jean GROGAN, Priscilla and Clare JONES, Pauline and Vince (deceased) HENNEBURY, Jennifer CHAPMAN, Janet and Peter MARTIN. Fondly remembered by nieces and nephews. Emmett will be remembered by Friends and family around Bolton and Caledon and later by Friends in Tara, Port Elgin and Walkerton. He was an avid euchre and cribbage player, if you were fast enough and good enough to keep up! He was also a regular fixture at jamborees and Saturday night dances. According to Emmett's wishes, his body has been donated to McMaster University for medical research. The family will receive Friends at Saint_John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Albion, 16066 The Gore Road, Caledon on Tuesday morning, February 5 from 10 o'clock until time of Memorial Mass at 11 o'clock. Following the Mass, a reception will be held at the Caledon Community Complex, 6215 Old Church Road, Caledon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Emmett's honour to the Canadian Cancer Society, or Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre - Owen Sound, 1400 - 8th Street East, P.O. VAN DYK, Verdun
Peacefully, on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at Victoria Hospital, Verdun VAN DYK of Lambeth passed away peacefully in her 93rd year. Predeceased by her husband Frederik "Van" VAN DYK (1980.) Loving mother of David and his wife Pat, Henk and his wife Dawn. Sadly missed by nephew Brian, nieces Maureen and Sharon and great-niece Rachel. Cremation has taken place. A private service will be held at a later date. In memory, donations to the Cardiac Care Unit at Victoria Hospital would be appreciated.

Dear father of Fred WILLEMSVANDYK (Lynne,) of Sarnia, Ken WILLEMSVANDYK (Terry) and Carol Ann WILLEMSVANDYK- BRANT, both of London. Loving Grandpa (Opa) to all his grandchildren and his one great-grandchild. Brother of Mies VAN HEES of Holland, and brother-in-law of William VANOS of Forest and Piet JANS of Holland. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters Gerrit WILLEMSVANDYK, Johanna VANOS of Forest, Toni DERKS, Jan WILLEMSVANDYK and Marta JANS, all in Holland. Visitors will be received in the O'Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St. on Tuesday from 2: 00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Andrew the Apostle Church (1 Fallon Lane at Huron) on Wednesday at 11: 00 a.m. Interment Saint Peter's Cemetery. Of Saint Thomas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, March 29th, 2008, at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in her 86th year. Dearly loved mother of Gayle and her husband Robert CLOES of Aylmer, Sharon and her husband Ron SIMPSON of Arnstein and Jill and her husband Mike HARVEY of Saint Thomas. Predeceased by a daughter Bonnie LACKEY (1997.) Dear mother-in-law of Clare LACKEY of Saint Thomas. Dear sister of Gerry (Mary Lou) LUTMAN, Connie (Ron) SMITH and Wayne (Rose) LUTMAN, all of London. Predeceased by 2 sisters Muriel DYKES and Ruth READING and by 2 brothers Bill and Ted LUTMAN. Loved grandmother of Billy (Angie) SIMPSON, Susan PATTON, Robert (Sheryl) CLOES, Brenda KOKKO and friend Chris PARE, Gerry (Stacey) KOKKO and Roger SIMPSON and great-grandmother of Matthew, James, Emma, Liam, Blake and Brady. Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Mary was born in London, Ontario on May 18, 1922, the daughter of the late George and Mabel LUTMAN. She worked at Eaton Yale. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas where funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11: 00 a.m. Interment to follow in Elmdale Cemetery. Loving father of Mike WHEELER and his wife Marg of Barrie and the late Richard WHEELER. Father-in-law of June WHEELER of London. Dear grandfather of Danny Peter WHEELER, Annette DYKSTRA (Gerard) and great-grandfather of Sarah, Alex, Sean and Laura. Predeceased by granddaughter Donna (1985).
