A resident of Longworth Retirement Residence in London, which
she enjoyed for the past nine months. Vera and her late husband
Clarence owned and operated the "Blossom Children's Shop" of
Saint Thomas for 14 years. She was secretary for the Elgin County
School Inspectors from 1952 to 1962 and retired from the Ministry
of Health purchasing department in 1971. Vera was a life long
member of Central United Church and their Philathea Class. Friends
will be received at the Daniel King Funeral Home, 31 Elgin Street,
Saint Thomas, (519) 631-0570 on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A service to celebrate Vera's life will be held at the funeral
home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow at the
funeral home. Memorial tributes in Vera

HARRIS who passed
away peacefully on Thursday, March 20th gathered to celebrate
her life on Wednesday March 26th at the Daniel King Funeral Home
in Saint Thomas. Memories of Vera were shared by her daughters

Heather NEWTON.

EXLEY were appreciated by the family.
A lovely luncheon was prepared by "The Friends of Saint Mark's
Church" and served at the funeral home. A private interment followed
at the Elmdale Memorial Cemetery with Vera's granddaughter Heather

over the past few months and weeks. The family was blessed and
will not forget the outpouring of love with visits, food, cards
and flowers from Friends and relatives. Many were fed and fellowship
was enjoyed! Relatives attended from Colorado, Florida, Forest,
Hamilton, Idaho, Kincardine, London, North Carolina, Philadelphia
and Waterloo. It would be appreciated if any further memorial
donations be directed to the Elgin Saint Thomas Community Association
for the Joanne Brooks Foundation in memory of Vera's special
niece.
