It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of
Robert. He passed away on March 21st, 2008, his 81st year. He
was the only child of Col. William

Bob▼
was the devoted and loved husband of Eleanor
(THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON) for 57 years.
He was the dearly loved father of William, (Nancy), John, (Dawn),
Colleen (David
IANNONE.)
Bob▼ was a deeply dedicated 'Bumpa' to
his grandchildren, Ryan, Sean, Melissa, Courtenay, and Eric

and Morgan, Conner and Sarah

Bob▼ was born and raised
in Toronto, Ontario A bit of a rebel, he left U.T.S. in grade
ten and joined the army at the age of seventeen, where he spent
one year until the war ended in 1945. Following this, Bob went
to Meisterschaft and completed his three years of high school
in one year. He then went onto University of Toronto where he
completed his B.A. and M.B.A. Bob began work at Canada Bread,
making his way to the top in the corporate business where he
became Pres. of Corporate Foods. Following retirement in 1992
he moved to British Columbia and continued to work part time
with McGavins and Olivieri which Corp. Foods had purchased in
the early 90's. Bob loved the family cottage on Stoney Lake,
Ontario where all of the children and grandchildren gathered
each summer. He had hobbies in woodworking, painting and enjoyed
a lively game of bridge. Bob was an active member of the Vancouver
Golf Club and of the West Vancouver Presbyterian Church where
he served on several boards. There will be a private family funeral
on Tuesday and a celebration of his life on Thursday March 27th
at 2 p.m. held at West Vancouver Presbyterian Church, 2813 Marine
Drive, West Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's
memory may be sent to the Diabetes's Association.
