PARRISH, Archibald Ralph
Died June 19th in Burnaby, British Columbia, of congestive heart failure after a short illness. Born in Chatham, Ontario April 17, 1923 to Margaret and Merle PARRISH, Ralph was the 4th of 6 children whose work ethic bore the imprint of the MacNaughton tartan. He graduated from Queens University in 1947. Lover of light, music and lifelong learning, Ralph worked and played predominantly on the West Coast, reserving the biting eastern cold for seasonal celebrations with family and piping hot meals. Music and family were, beyond all, the lights of his life. His opus now complete, its resonance tolls through the generations. His heart rests now, with Eleanore's, the silence between the notes. Surviving are his sister Eileen, daughter Joan and son-in-law Steve COBBOLD, son Rob and daughter-in-law Marian, son Dave, and grandchildren Sarah and Peter COBBOLD, Evan and Stephanie PARRISH, and Andreas IRION. As the Duke was wont to say… "We love you madly. In" lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation."
