MARTIN, Louis (1935-2008)
At Pavillon Alfred-Desrochers, on January 22, 2008, following a long illness passed away Louis MARTIN, journalist. He leaves to mourn his wife, Hélène FILION, his three sons and daughters-in-law, Nicolas (Élise DESJARDINS,) Stéphane (Maya HARTLEY) and Alexis (Claire GEOFFRION,) his grandchildren: Béatrice, Gabrielle, Laurent, Zoé and Éloi. son of the late Joséphine DÉCARY and the late Hector MARTIN, he was the brother of Fernande (Pierre JUNEAU,) the late Suzanne (the late Pierre BLONDIN,) the late Denise (Francis CORBETT,) Yves (Louise-Marie CHOUINARD,) Geneviève (Gilles BEAUSOLEIL,) Françoise (André LAMY,) Luc (Louise BOUCHARD,) Hélène (Michel BRÛLÉ.) He also leaves to mourn his sisters-in-law and his brother-in-law from the Filion family, as well as many nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grand-nieces. The family will receive condolences on Friday, January 25, 2008 from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, January 26 starting at 9: 30 a.m. at: Alfred Dallaire Memoria 1111, Laurier West, Outremont www.memoria.ca 514-277-7778 Valet Parking where at 11 a.m. a memorial ceremony will be held. The family would like to thank the management and the staff of Pavillon Alfred-Desrochers for the excellent care provided to Louis. FIRTH, Evelyn (née BAXTER)
In Garland, Texas with her family at her side, Evelyn Baxter FIRTH, age 82, passed away on March 21, 2008. She was the wife of Robert C. FIRTH, London, the daughter of James and Maude BAXTER of Sarnia, and sister of Millicent Baxter VAN SOMER, Dallas, Texas, who all preceeded her in death. She is survived in Texas by her children: Linda TURNER, Karen MABRY and her husband Steve, Robert J. FIRTH and his wife Ruth Ann and Susan FIRTH- PROSSER. She was the Nana of 11 and the G-Nana of 18. She is survived by a niece, Luann VANSOMER, Philadephia, Pennsylvania, cousin, Doreen JUNEK, Point Edward, brother-in-law and wife, David and Barbara FIRTH of London, sister-in-law and husband, Joy and Peter GILES, of Comox, British Columbia and several nieces and nephews, in Ireland. Home of her father, cousins Ann Marie O'KANE and James BAXTER of County Donegal survive her. A memorial service was held in Dallas, Texas.

At Victoria Hospital, L.H.S.C., on Wednesday June 25, 2008, Ted Edward GOLEMBISKI in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Barbara, of 27 years. Brother of Frank, Florence, Carol, George and Lucy. Predeceased by Viva (JUNIPER- JOHNSON) GOLEMBISKI, Irvin and Marg JOHNSON, Evangeline PHILLIPS and Cecilia SMITH. Survived by children Darlene (Rick) HUGHSON, Dennis (Kelly) GOLEMBISKI, Darrell GOLEMBISKI, Rick (Marcia) NOXELL and Carol KILEY. Also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Kim, Julie, nurses, doctors and staff of the Critical Care Trauma Unit for taking such great care of Ted through this very trying time for our family. By Ted's request there will be no funeral home visitation or service. A Graveside Service for interment of ashes will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 2001 Dundas St. E. (meet at cemetery office), on Monday June 30, 2008 at 11: 00 a.m. with Rev. Charlie SEED officiating. COOPER-SWEETMAN, Trudy (formerly VAN DAELE, COOPER, née PAGE)
Of London and Stokes Bay passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her summer residence in Stokes Bay on Sunday, May 18, 2008 in her 62nd year. Cherished wife of Brian SWEETMAN, daughter-in-law of Doug SWEETMAN, step-mother of Penny (Barry) EDGAR of Restoule and sister-in-law of Shirley MARSH of Guelph, May COOPER of Vancouver, Bruce SWEETMAN, Brenda SWEETMAN, Helen (Ken) STEWARD/STEWART/STUART and Norma (Scott) MURPHY, all of London and Suzy VAN DAELE of Chatham. She will be sadly missed by her niece Cathy (Ted) VAN RYN of London, her 'beloved' kids Mike (Amber,) Kate and Leigh VAN RYN, her grandchildren Ryan (Annette) EDGAR and Todd (Kerrie) EDGAR, as well as her great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. Trudy was predeceased by her parents Catherine 'Margie' JUNOR and Harry PAGE, brother Bob MARSH, sister Joan (Gord) HULLEY, brother-in-law Charlie COOPER, mother-in-law Audrey SWEETMAN, first husband Werner VAN DAELE and second husband Joe COOPER. Trudy was affectionately known as the pie lady and dock mistress of Bayhaven Camp, Stokes Bay for many years. A Service of Remembrance will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel, 1997 Dundas St. E. (at Wavell) on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 1 p.m. (visitation one hour prior). Interment Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at a later date. Donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
