15-year-old boy killed driving on a rural road
By The Canadian Press, Mon., June 30, 2008
Jarvis -- A 15-year-old boy is dead after the all-terrain vehicle
he was driving crashed into another vehicle near Jarvis.
Ontario Provincial Police said the teen was going through a rural
intersection around 6: 30 p.m. Saturday when the all-terrain vehicle
crashed into a vehicle.
The driver of the all-terrain vehicle, identified as Jake
RICHARDSON
of Peacock Point was pronounced dead at the scene.
Const. Paula
WRIGHT said the people in the vehicle were taken
to hospital with minor injuries and later released.
RICHARDSON's death comes on the heels of another all-terrain
vehicle crash that claimed the life of a 52-year-old Dunnville
man last Wednesday.
Ian KLEIN, who may have been trapped under his vehicle for up
to 10 hours before being discovered, was found after crashing
into a ditch.
Ontario
Provincial
Police Sgt. Michael
PRICE, off-road safety
co-ordinator with the highway safety division, said all-terrain
vehicles have grown in popularity. The biggest users are in the
25- to 45-year-old age range. On private property and trails,
kids must be under close parental supervision,
PRICE said.
