LISZKA, Stanislaw, DFC
At York Central Hospital, Richmond Hill, Ontario, on Friday, April 4, 2008, Stanislaw LISZKA in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Henryka LISZKA. Dear Uncle of Doctor Maria KUS, Janusz KUS and Ewa KUS; great-uncle of Agnieszka and Magdalena KUS; brother-in-law of Jadwiga KUS, all of London. At the outbreak of World War 2, Flight Lieutenant LISZKA served first with the Polish Air Forces in Poland against the Nazi Invasion; he escaped to France where he served under British Command with the Royal Air Force After the fall of France, he escaped to Britain where he became a veteran of the Battle of Britain serving with the 301 Polish Bomber Squadron which attacked the German Invasion fleet in Occupied France that was being assembled to invade England. In 1943, he became a training officer in Dorval, Quebec, Canada. Under Polish Command he was awarded the Virtuti Militari 5th Class with three bars (Cross for Valour) and under British Command he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, and the Air Crew Europe Star. After retirement from the Royal Air Force and immigration to Canada, he was with De Havilland Inc. and then Bombardier De Havilland Inc. in Downsview, Ontario. Visitors will be received on Wednesday from 7: 00-9:00 p.m. in the O'Neil Funeral Home, 350 William Street, London. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 419 Hill Street, on Thursday at 10: 00 a.m. Private entombment Saint Peter's Cemetery, London. Parish Prayers Wednesday evening at 8: 00 p.m.

Of Saint Thomas, passed away on Friday, April 25th, 2008, at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late John (Janis) August OZOLINS (April 18, 1988) and dear mother of Lonica and her husband Bob RATELLE of Saint Thomas. Dearly loved grandmother of Shannon and her husband Jason HART, Sonia RATELLE and her partner Andrew and Greg RATELLE. Dear sister of Freida and her husband Joe BIASZCZAK of New Sarum and the late Andy KUSASK. Dear aunt of Johnny BIASZCZAK. Martha was born in Poland on March 26th, 1920 and came to Canada in 1955. She was a member of the Saint_John's Lutheran Church, Aylmer. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas where funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1: 00 p.m. Interment to follow in Elmdale Cemetery. At the Creedan Valley Nursing Home in Creemore, Ontario on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 in his 90th year. Aleksas, loving husband of the late Sofija (May 1981). Dear father of Algis (Peter) and his wife Madonna, Dana KUSINSKIS and Rita and her husband Ralph DOBILAS. Grandfather of Justin (Jennifer,) Michael (Crystal), Alex, Trystan, Frank, Christina and great-grandfather of John GAVIN. Predeceased by one sister Birute of Lithuania. Aleksas will be sadly missed by many Friends in the United States and Lithuania.
