Peacefully after a life well lived, at Toronto East General Hospital
on Saturday, January 5, 2008, at the age of 82. Ray is survived
by his beloved wife of 57 years, Joanne and their children, Mary
CHRISTIE (Paul), David (Michelle) and Elizabeth
RUBBENS (Erik).
Ray was the loving grandfather of Molly and Cameron Christie,
Matthew,
Michael,
Danielle and Nicholas
PURVES, and Emma and
Edyn RUBBENS. He was also a much admired uncle of five nieces
and nephews.
Ray was born and raised in Port Arthur, Ontario and served in
the Canadian Army during World War 2. He began his business career
with Weaver Coal and Liquifuels. He served as Vice-President
of Sales for Toronto radio station CKFM (99.9 FM). He was
also Standard Broadcasting's station manager in Sarnia, Ontario.
He was later in the commercial real estate industry with Peter L.
Mason Agency. Many thanks to the caring staff of Toronto East
General Hospital, especially the G5 nurses who cared for him
so completely in his final days.
Cremation has taken place. Family and Friends will be invited
to a Memorial Celebration of Ray's life at a future date. Donations

number of nieces and nephews. Clare was born in Grandview, Manitoba
on February 19, 1927, the
son of the late Gust and Lyla

INGER. He worked at Celvite, the Tru-Die and then retired as
owner of Westool Precision Products. Clare was a member of Sparta
United Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting
and fishing. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street,
Saint Thomas where funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1: 00 p.m.
Spring interment in Sparta Cemetery. Visitation Monday from 2-4 and
7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the charity of choice.

Dorothy WRIGHT, (née
COLLARD) died peacefully at the Toronto
Grace Hospital with her daughter Nancy at her side. She was the
loving wife of the late Sydney Henry Arthur
WRIGHT
(Royal
Canadian
Air Force 1942). Dorothy will be missed by her children, Bruce
(Daisy OLIVER) and Nancy (Frank
PURVIS) and by her grandchildren
David PURVIS and Nicole
PURVIS
(Cameron
NIXON,) Arielle and Corinne
WRIGHT and by her great-granddaughter Laurel Anne
NIXON.
Dorothy
was the dear sister of Fred
COLLARD and the late Isabel
TOWNSEND,
Norman COLLARD,
Winnifred
GILSON and Charles
COLLARD. The family
would like to thank staff and Friends at the Meighen Retirement
Residence for their kindness over the past two years and the
caring nurses and doctors at the Palliative Care unit of The
Toronto Grace Hospital. If desired, donations may be made in
Dorothy's memory to The Salvation Army. Cremation has taken place.
A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held in the spring.
