Age 90 years, of Corunna, formerly a Moore Township farmer, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2008 at Bluewater Health, Palliative Care Unit, Sarnia. Much loved husband of Grace (MANNEN) SCOTT for 60+ years. Loving father of David (Libby) of Courtright, Alan (Carole) of Sarnia, Gary (Peggy) of Courtright and Paul of Sarnia. Treasured Grandfather of 9 grandchildren: Matthew, Erin (Alan), Laura, Neil and Anita, Ammie (David), Kristie (Joe), Tyler and Tracie (Brian). Cherished Great-grandfather of Mollie and Hannah; Ashley Grace and Trevor. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents George (1954) and Jessie (THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON) (1979,) son Douglas (1948,) sister Bettie LEESON (2004) and brothers Tom (1979) and Douglas (1920). Family and Friends will be received at Steadman Brothers Funeral Home, Brigden on Friday, February 15, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, February 16th at 11: 00 a.m. with Rev. Margaret BELL and Rev. Joanne SYMINGTON officiating. Interment Bear Creek Cemetery. Beloved wife of the late Frank MILLER (1993.) Loving mother of Pete and Linda MILLER of Petrolia and Pat and George WILLS of Dresden. Cherished grandmother of David and Tracy WILLS, Darren and Christal WILLS, Matthew and Karen MILLER and Erin MILLER and Eric HAWRYLUK. McALPINE, Jean
Peacefully, at C.E.E. Hospital - Bluewater Health, Petrolia, on Friday, February 15, 2008. Jean McALPINE, 92 years, of Petrolia. Miss McALPINE was a teacher throughout Lambton County, retiring from St. Clair High School in 1972. Miss McALPINE was predeceased by her parents, Angus and Rose McALPINE, and two sisters, Helen McALPINE (1997) and Janet McALPINE (1972.) She is survived by several cousins. The funeral service for Jean McALPINE will be held at the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, Petrolia, on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 1: 00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Jo-Anne SYMINGTON will officiate. Private interment in Rickard Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the C.E.E. Peacefully, with her family by her side at Lambton Meadowview Villa, Petrolia on Thursday, February 28, 2008. Edith Gibson (née BRITNEY,) 86 years, of Petrolia. Loving wife of the late Roy "Bud" GIBSON (2000.) Loved mother of Ron GIBSON and Patci and George STEPHEN all of Petrolia and the late Joan FLETT (2005) and a son-in-law Jim FLETT of Pitt Meadows, British Columbia. Will be missed by her grandchildren Bob and Stephanie METCALFE, Clay and Erica METCALFE, Lindy GIBSON, Jocelyn GIBSON, George and Amy STEPHEN, Brett and Ashley STEPHEN and her great-grandchildren Evan, Rachel, Olivia, Damien, George, and Evelyn. Edith was predeceased by her sisters Margaret CARR (2004) and Elsie MOORHOUSE (2003) and a brother Alvin BRITNEY (2006.) She is also survived by sisters-in-law Dorothy WICKS of Dresden and Ilene and Ivan BRISSEAU of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia and many nieces and nephews. FOX- REVETT, Mary Joan
Joan died peacefully, at home in Toronto, on Wednesday, July 9, 2008, in her 84th year. She was the beloved wife and friend for 53 years of Stephen, who predeceased her in February of 2005. Dear mother of David (Margaret), Julia, Richard (Melissa), Diana (Chris SYMONDS.) She was the cherished grandma of Emily, Jamie, Lindsay, Audrey, Michael, Elizabeth, Cameron, Jeremy, Amanda, William and Thomas. Joan was the devoted sister of Cynthia DINSMORE and husband John. At the time of her death she was still actively involved in Muskoka, going for her last swim last Sunday. An ardent supporter of The National Ballet of Canada, Toronto Symphony, Christ Church Deer Park, The York Club, Muskoka Lakes Golf and Country Club and Belmont House. Mum was known for her impeccable style and grace, she loved to travel and was always the last to leave a party. She was a truly great hostess, and loved to enjoy time with Friends and family. Mum always showed a deep love and demonstrated real support to all of her family. She will be missed by all. The family will receive Friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home - A.W. Miles Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East) from 2: 00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 13. The funeral will be held in Christ Church Deer Park, 1570 Yonge Street (Heath and Yonge) on Monday, July 14 at 11 o'clock. A celebration in the church hall will follow. ENSOR, Barbara " Boo" (née WELLS)
Passed away on January 7, 2008 at Kelso Pines Retirement Lodge in Owen Sound. She was 92 years of age. She will be missed by two step-children Bob ENSOR of Victoria, British Columbia, Fran VAN MEER (Kees) of Annan, Ontario and nieces and nephews: Michael (Leona) HOLLAND of Sarnia, Susan (Donald) JOHNSTON of Toronto, Gail GINGRAS of Kincardine, Geoffrey (Zuli) of Barrie, Christine (Jim) SSAINTWRENCE of Stratford and David (Liz) SYMONS of Windsor. She was predeceased by parents Arthur Frederick WELLS and Barbara Elizabeth SPIERS, her husband John and two sisters Isabel (Sibby) SYMONS and Florence (Tiny) HOLLAND. There will be a private family service and interment in the spring in Toronto. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society through the Tannahill Funeral Home, Owen Sound 519-376-3710. We want to express as a family, the thanks and appreciation we all feel for the tender loving care that Boo received at Kelso Pines. Predeceased by her husband, John ENSOR, and her sisters, Mrs. Isabel SYMONS and Mrs. Florence HOLLAND. Survived by her step-children, Frances VAN MEER of Annan, Ontario and Robert ENSOR, of Victoria, British Columbia, and her nephews and nieces David SYMONS of Windsor, Ontario, Michael HOLLAND of Sarnia, Ontario, Susan JOHNSTON of Toronto, Gail GINGRAS of Kincardine, Ontario, Geoffrey HOLLAND of Barrie, Ontario and Christine SSAINTWRENCE of Stratford, Ontario. Barbara was a long-time friend and supporter of the Canadian art community, running the Artist's Workshop (an informal art school) in Toronto for many years, and, after her marriage and move to Ottawa, establishing the Wells Gallery there. Following her retirement and the sale of the Gallery, she lived in Kingston, Ontario for several years. before moving to a retirement home in Owen Sound to be near her step-daughter Fran. "Boo" will be fondly remembered by all her family and Friends. A private cremation has been held; interment in Toronto will be arranged in the Spring. If you wish, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimers Society, or the charity of your choice.
