Peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit at Bluewater Health on Saturday, February 16, 2008 William KUINDERSMA age 78 of Sarnia. Beloved husband of the late Cotje (2004). Loving Father of Trudy (Ron) SCHIESTEL and Joan VANDENBERG. Cherished Pops of Steven and Renee, Jaclyn and Jimmy, Heather and Craig, Chuck and Lindsay, Ryan, and Grand Pops to Ethan, Nicole, Robbie, Amber, Jori and Chase. Survived by brother Robert (Mary) KUINDERSMA, sisters Tess (Jim) McWHINNEY, Greta (Hank) PLUG, and sisters-in-law Denyse and Mickey KUINDERSMA. Also survived by brothers-in-law Bill (Edie,) and Peter (Lynne) Esser and sisters-in-law Kay CHIVERS, Lena (Jim) JOOSSE, Betty VANDERHEIDE and Jennie (Lex) KAPTEYN. Uncle Bill will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews as a man of tremendous generosity and optimism. Predeceased by brothers Reinder, John and Pete and parents Ynte and Anna KUINDERSMA. Bill moved to Sarnia from Windsor in 1945 and was employed as president of K&E Sand and Gravel for 38 years. He served the First Christian Reformed Church as Deacon, Elder and Cadet Councilor and combined a love of sports and of young people by coaching church hockey and baseball for many years. Family and Friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Thursday, February 21, 2008 from 2 until 4 p.m. and 7 until 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 22, 2008 at The First Christian Reformed Church (corner of Exmouth St. and Murphy Rd.) at 11: 00 a.m. Interment to follow at Blackwell Cemetery. Peacefully at Victoria Hospital London on Monday, June 2nd, 2008 Richard Douglas McWHINNEY of London in his 57th year. Loving husband of Linda. Dear step father of Debbie and John ADAM/ADAMS of Barrie, Brenda SEMPLE and Trevor NEFF and Trevor SEMPLE and Denise WATSON both of London. Dear Grandfather of Hailey, Tiffany, Justin, Meagan, Jenika and Lauren. Dear brother of Janis and Henry Bens of Strathroy. Known as Uncle Rick to Amanda, Adam and Aaron. Also survived by his father Murrray. He was predeceased by his mother Helen McWHINNEY (1989.) A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Epiphany Anglican Church, 11 Briscoe Street West London on Thursday, June 5, 2008 commencing at 2 p.m. Special thanks to the London Cancer Clinic for their care. Memorial donations to the London Cancer Clinic, 790 Commissioners Road East London in lieu of flowers would be appreciated by the family. McWHIRTER, Mary Jeanette (née KING)
At Lee Manor on Friday, January 4, 2008, with her family by her side. Wife of Donald McWHIRTER for over 58 years. Mother of Bob and his wife Lynne and Jan and her husband Rob ALLAN. Proud grandmother of Adrienne, Quinn, Jordan, Tessa and Spencer ALLAN. Also survived by Beth HAZEN, Sharon NERI, Elaine KING and Peg HAY and their families. Predeceased by her parents Andrew and Edna (HINDMAN) KING, brother Bruce and sisters Olive and Orma. Despite back trouble, Mary loved participating in lawn and carpet bowling, line dancing, darts, the Seniors Games and was a Life Member of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary Br. No. 6. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Br. No. 6, Legion Ladies Auxiliary or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated and may be made through the Tannahill Funeral Home 519-376-3710. The family extends their appreciation to Lee Manor staff, especially Kelly and Linda for their extra care during Mary's final hours and special attention from Penny and Sandra.

Peacefully at Bluewater Health Palliative Care on Friday, May 30, 2008 Eldridge HARRISON age 77 of Sarnia formerly of Cascapedia, Quebec. Beloved husband of the late Gloria (McWHIRTER) HARRISON (2006.) Loving father of Brenda (Steve) FIRTH of Armstrong, British Columbia and Bob HARRISON of Mooretown. Cherished grandfather of Brittany and Daytona HARRISON. Loving brother of Conrad (Donna) HARRISON of London, Ontario and Oliver (Sue) HARRISON of Houston, Texas. Survived by brother-in-law Bob (Gisele) McWHIRTER of New Richmond, Quebec, several nieces and nephews including Linda BLAKE of Oshawa, Nancy (Peter) MAHER of Calgary, Ian (Judy) BROWN of Sarnia, Lorie and Tracy HARRISON of London and Oliver and Steven HARRISON of Texas. Predeceased by his parents Eddie and Bernice HARRISON. Al was a Steam Engine Fireman and Engineer with C.N. and Via Rail and was active in the Railroad Pensioners Association, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Temple Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 2, 2008 at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia at 2: 00 p.m. The Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Family and Friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon from 1: 00 until 4:00 p.m. only. In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
