Peacefully at Richmond Hill Leisureworld on Saturday, April 12,
2008. Dearly loved husband to Margaret (née
PIPER) for 56 years.
Loved father of Robert (Rob) (Marilyn) and Sheila. Proud Grandpa 'D'
to Christie, Shannon, Sarah and Rebekah (Beki). Lou is survived
by his brother Peter, predeceased by his brother Tom and sister
Mary, and Parents Vasil and Sveta. Fondly remembered by many
nieces and nephews. Brothers Tom, Pete and Lou built and operated
Surf Marine, at 9002 Yonge St. in 1957. They later manufactured
Surf Master Boats as well. Both of his brothers retired from
the business in the mid 1970's and Lou in 1981. Surf Marine remained
in business for several years under different proprietorships.
Lou continued in the marine business as a manufacturers rep until
he retired in 1997 and moved to Sutton. Lou was a patient at
Leisureworld for over three years. The family would like to thank
the staff for their kind care and attention to Lou during his
stay. Friends may call at Marshall Funeral Home, 10366 Yonge
Street, Richmond Hill (4th traffic light north of Major Mackenzie)
on Monday, April 14 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Service in the Chapel
on Tuesday, April 15, at 1: 30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family
would appreciate remembrances sent to York Central Hospital or
the Parkinson's Foundation.
