OGS Branches & Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
Below is a list of the OGS Branches and Special Interest Groups (SIGs) with links to their websites. Visit the branch/SIG websites to learn about the many benefits of belonging to a branch or SIG.
- Many branches serve more than one county, so the Branch may not have the county name that you're searching for in its name.
- A SIG is a permanent group of OGS Members with an interest in some other topic, such as a geographic location outside Ontario (e.g. immigrants from a particular country), an ethnic or cultural group (e.g. natives or a particular fraternal organization), or an event (e.g. a particular emigration scheme). See the SIG webpage for more information.
- The Ontario Locator can help you can find what Branch a historical county, city, or district belongs to.
- To find locations not on the Ontario Locator, you can try the Querying Geographical Names of Canada search service from Natural Resources Canada.
