Queries are welcomed. Do not send payment with your initial request. A researcher will be in contact to tell you what amount to remit. Research results will follow shortly after payment is received. Charges are for the search, regardless of results.

Basic Research: $25 for each name [postage included]

A comprehensive search in our collection of the following sources will be undertaken. However, as with all research, success cannot be guaranteed.

Obituaries: $5 for each request

Cemetery Transcriptions: $5 for first person and $2 each additional

Photocopies from our branch cemetery transcripts are available. The Ontario Name Index (TONI) or the Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid can be consulted to help determine which entries are required. Please specify the exact cemetery, township and surnames in your query.

Newsletter Queries

Anyone is welcome to post a free query in our quarterly newsletter, London Leaf. Newsletter editors reserve the right to edit and inclusion depends upon space availability. Queries should be concise with snail and email addresses provided.

Local Branch Researchers (for a fee)

A list of local researchers is available upon request for research at local repositories, i.e. Western University, Land Registry Office, London Public Library, etc. Each person seeking information is responsible for contacting and making payment to the researcher chosen.

Policy subject to change without notice

Registrations began in Ontario in 1869 and currently registrations are available through to 1913 for births, 1928 for marriages and 1938 for deaths.

The queries, begun in 1981 to the present, includes family information plus contact information for the person who provided the query.
This ongoing collection of around 377,445 names (last update: 16 Dec 2016), features obituaries and death notices mainly from 1967 through to the 2014 and cross referenced with maiden names. The actual obituary would be photocopied as part of our service. Records for 2015 and 2016 currently number 6,405 (last update: 05 Feb 2017)
Our collection includes many family histories and local township history books.
An "Early Settler" is defined as someone who settled in Middlesex County prior to 1900. This collection, begun over 30 years ago, includes family information submitted by branch members.
About 750,000 Middlesex County surnames were taken from primary and secondary sources including the Archives & Regional Collections Centre at Western University, the London Room at London Public Library and other original publications.
An early branch president, Mr. Ken Totten, collected obituaries, death notices and a few family events from newspapers over southwestern Ontario, mainly from the Windsor area through to Toronto. The actual clipping would be photocopied as part of our service.
