November – Remembrance of Canada’s “War” Dead; Overseas and at Home – John D. Reid

Posted in: Webinars | 0

Each year at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, Canadians at the National War Memorial in Ottawa and across the country pause in remembrance of those who died in military service. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission commemorates casualties of the two world wars from the UK, Canada, and elsewhere in the former British Empire. Canada’s Virtual War Memorial often includes additional information and extends recognition to most Canadians who died in other military service, and to the RCMP. The presentation explores and compares what you can find in those and in the many other often obscure memorials.
