The Ontario Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists (OCAPG) is pleased to announce that it has accepted an offer of free hosting from Ontario Ancestors for its website https://ocapg.org/. The OCAPG website has been seamlessly transferred to the Ontario Ancestors’ hosting platform, in a move which will save OCAPG yearly hosting fees. The OCAPG is grateful to Ontario Ancestors for its support and looks forward to a long association with Ontario Ancestors.
Ontario Ancestors’ President Steve Fulton commented that “Ontario Ancestors is proud to support organizations such as OCAPG. We believe in partnerships with interested parties for the betterment of genealogy in Ontario. This move is consistent with the offer we announced in June 2018 offering hosting on our platform to other genealogy and local history sites in Ontario.”
The Ontario Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists
The OCAPG was formed in 1998 to offer a networking forum for members of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG) in the province of Ontario, Canada. The membership has now expanded to include members of APG, who live beyond the Ontario borders, with an interest in Ontario research. The OCAPG supports the objectives of the APG and the promotion of professional standards in genealogical research and writing.
Ontario Ancestors (The Ontario Genealogical Society) an Ontario not-for-profit corporation and a registered Canadian charity (Reg. # 119248680 RR0001), was founded in 1961 with the vision of being recognized as the authority and leader in all aspects of Ontario related family history research, preservation and communication. The mission of the Society is to encourage, bring together and assist those interested in the pursuit of family history and to preserve Ontario’s genealogical heritage. Ontario Ancestors has 30 geographically based branches throughout Ontario together with five special interest groups (British Home Children, Scottish, Ireland, East European and Irish-Palatine).
