OGS Introduces the Short Video Series

The OGS Short Video Series can help you discover what you need to begin your search, whether you are an Ontario native, or are from outside the province. These videos will add to your tool set and provide you with the confidence to enable you to begin researching your Ontario ancestors.

You don’t need to be an OGS member to access these short videos – our goal is to enable all family historians to find their Ontario ancestors.

Each video is presented by various genealogy experts and focuses on a different subject. Subjects in our first series are:

  • How to write a genealogical query to give you optimum results;
  • The origins of Ontario, how it developed and its geography;
  • What research tools are available;
  • The all-important Vital Statistic records (birth, marriage and death);
  • An examination of the Census records;
  • Immigration and which records will help you learn more about your immigrant ancestors.

Stay tuned as new videos will be released.
