This index was produced from the British Home Children information found on the LAC website.  A search was done using keywords such as Essex, Windsor, Anderdon, Malden, Amherstburg, Sandwich, Gosfield, Kingsville, Mersea, Leamington, Colchester, Harrow, Maidstone, etc.  Research was then completed to determine what happened to these children when they arrived in Essex County. Did they married and/or have children?  What occupations did they pursue?  Did they enter the military in Canada? Did they move away from Essex County?  When and where did they die?    In some cases the parents and siblings of these children could be found.  If you know of any additional British Home Children who were sent to Essex County, please contact the Essex Branch researcher so that the names can be added.
