The “ATHENS REPORTER” was a weekly newspaper printed in the village of Athens formerly known as Farmersville.

Athens is located in the Rear of Yonge and Escott Township, Leeds County.

This newspaper is of particular interest to the genealogist because the editor and reporters tended to pay close attention to family connections of both local and former residents.

It is common to find marriages etc., which occurred in distant locations being reported.
