Description

This transcription by Dora Pineau, a volunteer with the Essex County Branch of Ontario Ancestors, of the marriages of the Western District, Upper Canada, 1796-1856 was taken from a microfilm copy of the original, hand-written, Register.  As such, not only spelling differences but transcribing difficulties did occur.

These marriages took place in what is now called Essex, Kent and Lambton Counties. Some earlier cases are included, some of which may have been completed in Detroit when it was part of the British Territory.
