FNMI is an acronym used in Canada to identify the three Indigenous peoples of Canada: First Nations, Mรฉtis, and Inuit. This informative talk will delve into the unique histories and cultures of each group, shedding light on their diverse backgrounds.

Along with history, it is essential to understand names and terminology to understand records, and not offend when asking for help. We will explore how these communities are represented in Census records, providing insights into their demographics and social dynamics. Additionally, participants will learn about the various records and resources available to research for each of the FNMI peoples.
