The “ATHENS REPORTER” was a weekly newspaper printed in Gananoque by the Gananoque Reporter after 1948, by the Scott family.

Edna B. Chant was the editor of the Athens information.

The paper included various articles of the “social and district news”, where local correspondents gathered weekly information on family events, visits, births, wedding anniversary celebrations, weddings, and deaths of it’s citizens.

Microfilmed copies of the papers that survived are located at the Athens Public Library, the Brockville Public Library as well as at the Leeds and Grenville branch of the Ontario Genealogy Society, located in the Brockville Museum.

This book contains the births, deaths, marriages and some family celebrations for the years 1954 through 1957.
