History: The Beth Jacob Congregation opened their first Jewish cemetery in the Hamilton area on Snake Road just south of the railroad tracks. The first burial here was in 1887.
The Grand Order of Israel opened the first section of their cemetery on the north side of the railroad tracks, directly across the tracks from Beth Jacob. The Grand Order of Israel later purchased 200 plots from Beth Jacob. There is no sign denoting which is the Grand Order of Israel section and no defined dividing line marking the separation between the two sections. The combined Grand Order of Israel and Beth Jacob sections contain over 1000 graves. Although all plots in these cemeteries are sold, burials are still taking place as many plots were pre-sold or have space.
In 2004 Beth Jacob established the large Stanley Sobol section slightly farther to the north on Snake Road.
