On November 1, 1973, the Catholic Diocese of Hamilton purchased land from S. Ravida for the purpose of opening a Roman Catholic Cemetery in Ancaster. The cemetery came into operation in 1984 and its large land area ensures it will remain active for many years to come.
Resurrection has a peaceful, country setting on Garner Road West (Highway 53) in Ancaster, across from Bishop Tonnos High School. The stone entrance gates lead to a rolling property with mature trees, well-developed flower beds and a beautiful pond. Our cemetery office is located in the original farmhouse, now renovated to provide a comfortable meeting place.
Resurrection offers in-ground full burial and cremation lots and an outdoor columbarium for cremated remains. Our Lady of Hope Mausoleum, which opened in 2012, has both crypt and niche spaces.
