Description

St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church Cemetery is located on the west part of Lot 30, Concession 1E, Markham Township, now the City of Markham. It’s behind the church at 15 Church Lane, north of John Street, in the village of Thornhill.

The cemetery was established about 1846 and, as of the publication date of the transcription, was still active. There were not many Catholic burying grounds in York Region  so there are many families from a wide area buried here at St. Luke’s.

The transcription, published in 1994, is 55 pages long and includes a short history, photos, a map, the inscriptions and an index.
