December Webinar | How To Get Children Involved In Family Research | Becky Villareal

Getting family members involved in genealogy can sometimes have its own challenges. Many children know little, if any, information about their families. This can include their place of origin, the extended family members, and the experiences they endured to bring them to the place they are now.

There is a wealth of information not only in libraries and genealogical organizations but the hearts and minds of older members of our society. It is my goal to begin those important conversations among family members that would encourage them to find out more on their own.

Engaging children in anything has to be a group effort. In this presentation, I propose to share ideas with genealogists who are looking for ways to get families, particularly children and grandchildren, interested and involved in family history.

In order to provide the tools and the structure needed to develop such an event, the following will be presented:

โ€ข Importance of Oral History
