This publication began as an abstract from the prodigious Chester Hare collection that was turned over to the Leeds and Grenville Branch of the O.G.S. 2000.

Mr. Hare had created a number of census listings which provided name and age.

After lengthy deliberation Leeds and Grenville Branch determined that publication would be possible only if all pertinent occupational, religious, and birth data was included.
