Description

– Originally located on the southwest corner of Lot 10, Concession 2, in the Township of Grantham on the King’s Grant Lot granted to William Hodgkinson, former Butler’s Ranger.  The cemetery plot on the edge of the 10 Mile Creek was moved in November of 1913 to make way for the construction of the present Welland Ship Canal.  Eighty-four graves were opened and seventy-three bodies were found. Remains and a few stones were placed in a King’s Grant Plot in Section S at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.

This document includes 6 known gravestone transcriptions,  notes on birth/death dates for more than 30 family members,  with historical notes on the Hodgkinson land.
