Description
– The site of the Lincoln County Industrial Home was at the foot of Scott Street (once known as the “Gordon Wood Road”), near 373 Ontario Street, St. Catharines. No markers exist in the burying ground, now located behind the Ed Learn Ford Motor sales garage on Ontario Street, St. Catharines, on the bank of the “old canal” (the Twelve Mile Creek). It was built as “a facility which could care for the infirm and destitute.”
This document contains a historical account and listing of 82 known burials with notes on 29 other deaths from records kept by the Lincoln County Industrial Home (1887 to 1910).
