Description
– Located on Lot 2, Concession 8, at 2050 Pelham Road, in former Louth Twsp., Lincoln, behind the Rockway Presbyterian Church. Although the oldest stone in Rockway Cemetery is dated 1805, the cemetery wasn’t actually created until 1830 when John Clark transferred the lands forming the main part of the cemetery (part of Lot 11, Concession 8, Township of Louth District) to named trustees of the Presbyterian and Episcopal denomination of Christians. In 1889 the cemetery was called the “Union Church Burial Grounds” and the present name “Rockway Cemetery” was adopted in 1905.
