Description

– This old family burial ground is located on Lot 7, Broken Front, of Louth Township, Lincoln County, near 1183 Lakeshore Rd. West in St. Catharines.  The property was first granted in 1794 to Fredrick Augustus Schram, a United Empire Loyalist who was born in New York.  He set aside this plot of land as a cemetery for local people and it appears to have been used until about 1875.  Some of the remains may have been moved to church cemeteries later.

This document includes known transcriptions (1983, 2006) with sketches of 15 gravestones. The stones are now laid down in a central area (2 photos).  Also includes notes from records at St. John’s Anglican Church, Port Dalhousie.   (Caskey, Chisholm, Crumb, Dell, Hainer, Hand, Jackson, Kelly, Overholt, Patterson, Runchey, Ryckman, Schram, Smith, Tenline, Tinlin).
