Avondale Cemetery – Stratford

All names included in this index are extracted from the microfilmed records of the Avondale Cemetery and are available at the Stratford-Perth Archives . The entire film covers from 1871-1923 but due to the number of registrations, this index will appear in several volumes.

The columns are: Registration Number (very important since the pages are not numbered), Surname, Christian Name, Age, Date of Death if given, Block and Plot number, comments and the Gender.

In the actual register, more information is included such as religious denomination, marital status, physician, cost of burial and cause of death. These may be read from the microfilm entries.

The filmed pages at the beginning of the register are not in the correct order.  Several pages actually appear at the end of January 1924 where the film ends but have been indexed here with the earliest burials . The index follows the numerical registrations from year to year and does not attempt to sort burials according to chronological death dates since many early burials elsewhere eventually are removed to Avondale.

Many burials are not marked with a tombstone and will also appear in a separate listing as will all Potters Field burials, however both are also included here.
