Along Hartley Bay Road, initially known as Bigwood Road, there is a clearing of land with no evidence of surface structures. Researching Ontario, Canada, Death and Deaths Overseas, 1869-1950 records, 19 death entries have been located for Bigwood Cemetery. The earliest death entry is for Alexina Jeanne Desmarais (February 21, 1918) and the last date entry is for Muriel Mallette (April 17, 1947).

Located on a portion of farmland, over the years it became a community cemetery although it remained under private ownership.” Today it is recognized as a municipal cemetery closed to burials.
