Description
The first Anglican services in the area of the โ8โ were said to be held as early as 1840 at a school which stood near where the present Church is located (370 Lakeshore Road, R.R.#5, Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON).
A mission was opened at the Eight-Mile Creek Brick School House in Grantham, Ont. in 1847 by Rev. J. F. Lundy. The cornerstone of the present church was laid on 28 July 1853, and first Divine service was held in the new Church on Christmas Day, 1854.
