History:

In the early 1990s the Union Cemetery in Waterdown, the only municipal cemetery in East Flamborough and in use since the 1830s, had reach the end of its capacity.

Recognizing the need for a new site with projected population growth, in 1993 the Town of Flamborough voted to purchase 13 acres of farm land on Garden Lane for a second municipal cemetery. This cemetery was opened in 1995, and should remain in use for many years to come.
