– The Lincoln County Industrial Home was located at the foot of Scott Street (once known as the “Gordon Wood Road”), near 373 Ontario Street, St. Catharines.ย  No markers exist in the burying ground located behind the Ed Learn Ford Motor Sales garage on Ontario Street, on the bank of the “old canal” (the Twelve Mile Creek).ย  It was built as “a facility which could care for the infirm and destitute.”

This combined document includes:

#3290: – a historical account and indexed listing of 82 known burials with notes on 29 other deaths from records kept by the Lincoln County Industrial Home (1881 to 1910). (C. Taylor, 2005)

M001: – History and excerpts from the Minutes of Meetings of the Council of the County of Lincoln between 1883 and 1889 inclusive, pertaining to the Committee on the Support of Destitute Insane and the Industrial Home. The index includes all names appearing in the records, with some deaths recorded in the Minutes. (W. J. Stevens, 1989)
